That moment when you figure out Digimon Frontier (Season 4) is actually a prequel to Digimon Adventure (Season 1 and 2)

brandothan:

This is a theory. So it’s probably not true. But here’s my logic.

1) There are 5 main digidestined that don’t have digimon. Some of them have digivolutions that reference future digimon. BurningGreymon, MetalKabuterimon, MagnaGarurumon, KorIkakumon (That last one is a bit of a stretch). The 6th digidestined doesn’t count because only his spirit is in the digital world. His body is in a coma in the real world. Genai says that there were 5 digidestined before Tai and the gang.

2) Time wise a Digiworld year is like a few days in real world (exaggeration but you get the point). Generations could have passed in the Digital World while Tai and his friends were growing up to the point that they could enter the Digiworld.

3) The digimon in season one claim they were waiting for the digidestined for a long time. Could it be that they were the ancestors of the digimon the kids in season 4 were and were waiting for their partners to come back to them. Seraphimon and Ophanimon are the mega levels of Patamon and Gatomon. The patamon and gatomon could be the ancestors of the original leaders of the digiworld. Ophanimon also appears later than Seraphimon in the season which could be a reference to the fact that Gatomon appeared later than Patamon.

4) Genai said they sealed away a great evil. Lucemon was that evil.

5) The Greymon and Garurumon dna digivolve to defeat a super evil in season 1 and 4.

6) The digital world was pretty much destroyed then put back together. It could be possible that not everyone remembered that. Only Genai (and I think Piximon. I’m not 100% sure. I haven’t seen that episode with Piximon in it in a long time) remembered it. This also could explain why the digital world looks different in the Season 1 in comparison to season 4.

7) The stills in season 1 were of Tai and the others not to depict what the original digidestined looked like, but to avoid costs of creating new designs for digidestined.

18 Reasons Digimon is Better than Pokemon

brandothan:

1) You only get one - With the exception of a few games, the whole point is you get one partner. With Pokemon the whole point is just to train them and get as many of them as possible. Digimon gives you only one. You need to take care of it like it was a real pet (In the Tomagotchi’s and Digimon…
